CLAP CLAP
Throw some money
Slap her on her booty...
With some money!

BARS.

'Salute Me Or Shoot Me 3' has got a lot of greatness on it. I'm drunk, though, so that might have upped its greatness levels.

For all you Fiddy fans:

Real Nigga Tumblr has been doing a count-down of his top 50 G-Unit tracks (mixtape and album): http://www.realniggatumblr.com/post/3903946282/rnts-top-50-g-unit-tracks-album-cuts-and-mixtape

and this guy has done a compilation of Fiddy's recent work, seems he's going through a resurgence as that Pusha guest spot suggested:

''Pusha T: “Hell Hath No Fury is the best album to ever come out in the world. It’s the best album ever made in life. It’s right up there with Thriller and Purple Rain. Actually, it’s Thriller, Purple Rain, then Hell Hath No Fury. Matter of fact, we might be able to top Purple Rain. And ’Momma I’m So Sorry’ is my favorite Clipse record. Well, it’s a toss-up between that and ’Keys Open Doors.’

Hell Hath No Fury is right up there with Thriller and Purple Rain. Actually, it’s Thriller, Purple Rain, then Hell Hath No Fury. Matter of fact, we might be able to top Purple Rain.

“My favorite record ever made by an artist is probably ’My Downfall’ by B.I.G. There’s a few moments from Life After Death that were so crazy that they inspired me. The ’Momma I’m So Sorry’ beat made me try to harness anything I could from the spirit of B.I.G., and then put my twist and my spin on it. So you gotta understand [Imitates B.I.G. voice], ’I philosophize about glocks and keys/Niggas call me young black Socrates.’ That’s me biting B.I.G at my finest. I have to thank B.I.G for that cause I was biting and you can tell the world I was biting. Now, that’s somebody I’ll bite!”

that Complex.com list is great

He's doing a Kanye impression on a lot of the tracks (see how he admits to doing a Biggie impression on 'Hell Hath No Fury'?). Quite a lot of rappers seem to do this at the moment, fairly predictable I suppose. He's technically a bit tighter than Kanye, though. First impression of the tape is that its generally of high quality and he's an impressive rapper but it's solid rather than brilliant. I like the Rick Ross tune and the aforeposted Neptunes produced tune with 50 Cent. Has definitely made me pay more attention to him as a lyricist, going to have to go back to the Clipse cos I always paid more attention to the beats.

this was linked on cocaine blunts, original beat/tune is jim jones I think

We're forgetting he was probably 'pinch-hitting' for Kanye on the last album. The very first track, "Too many urkels in your team, that's why your wins low!" is a total eye-roller Pusha lyric. Never mind it's followed up by that sing-song "Don't make me pull the toys out! (Heh!?); The toys that make noise..."

Replace that "Heh!?" with a "Yuuuuuuch!" and that's some Clipse shit right there.

so many green ova tapes released in the last few weeks, there's 'The Shady Gambino Project', 'I Smoke Because I Don't Care About Death', and now Mondre's 'Dope Since '91' and Thizzle Jones 'Gorilla Musik'. Neither of which I've had the chance to listen to. It's hard keeping up with them, the quality seems to be consistently very high though. I'm becoming a bit of a fanboy for this stuff, I must admit.

At almost the opposite end of the scale to M.A's hazy sound you will find Rick Ross bellowing about being a mobster. This is the highlight of 'Fear of God' for me, after a couple of listens anyway. And Rick Ross stands out.

I just came in here to post that Pusha T Complex run down. Excellent reading and I'm only about half way through, it's cool to read about the real meaning behind verses like Hate It Or Love It.

I hear Odd Future are playing Leeds / Reading this summer

Seeing them on that talk show with Mos Def invading the stage screaming "swagggg"--too funny. Almost makes me want to buy a ticket...

They seem pretty shit live to me from the clips I've seen, just shouting over the top of their own music. But at least there's real energy to their shows, which is more than can be said for the Mos Def live show I saw last year.

I liked Mos Def a lot more before I heard any interviews with him or listened to any of his music post B.O.B.Sides.

the ecstatic was pretty good/great. second best thing hes done after bobs.
i dont want to see him again BUT when i saw him just before the ecstatic came out he wasnt bad. his shows dont have any momentum though. but then im not a huge fan of live hip hop anyway.
id still rather listen to anything mos has done over talib though.

Space Age Hustle and Dream Collabo Present: Two Man Horror Film, The Main Attrakionz Compilation (Internet, 2011)

Though they’ve been on our radar since around this time last year, and we’ve been proselytizing about their work to anyone that would listen since then (you might remember their heavy presence on our last tape, 3 Years Ahead), Main Attrakionz and the whole Green Ova camp have finally starting turning heads outside of this small rap blog world in 2011. With the release of Squadda B’s I Smoke Because I Don’t Care About Death, Shady Blaze and Squadda’s Shady Bambino Project, and now Mondre’s Dope Since 1991 mixtapes, glowing write-ups from Pitchfork, SF Weekly, and The Fader (among others) have followed. A crammed release schedule is coming up, including their full-length debut album Legion of Doom, as well as so many collaborative projects and solo releases from Squadda and Mondre it might make your head spin. This is in addition to a colossal amount of music the duo has already released. It can be overwhelming.

So Space Age Hustle, along with the Berkeley-based Dream Collabo, have put together an introductory compilation to help the uninitiated dive into the beautiful, idiosyncratic, and complex world of MAz. We have probably listened to more Main Attrakionz than anyone in the world, and this tracklist is made up of our favorite tracks, new and old. It’s a great one for those interested in their unique sound. Clipped vocal samples, slapping 808s, hazy atmospherics, and generally top-notch production work from Squadda and frequent collaborators Clams Casino, NoaBoa, and Nem270 (as well as others) combine perfectly with the lyrical work of MCs Squadda and Mondre. And the lyrics: probably the most underrated part of the Main Attrakionz world. Both Squadda and Mondre have a unique ability to combine narrative muscle with creative punchlines at a delirious rate. Oftentimes overlooked (especially in their early work) because of how deep the vocals are in the mix, they’re definitely worth keeping an ear out for. Their most high-profile fan, Danny Brown, calls Mondre his favorite MC out right now.

Get in now or miss out. Main Attrakionz are going to be all over your radar in the next several months, and you all should be paying attention. Tracklist and credits below:
