You were literally saying upthread that Germany is going to team up with Russia upthread which is a completely absurd and mad proposition. The most sucessful European democracy team up with a hugely corrupt impoverished autocracy. The "America is losing its power" thing is mostly fan fiction written by tankies. Trump will do his best if he gets in but he'll face lots of institutional resistance.

Yes, Germany will choose Russia in the new post American imperiim multipolar world. Much of what we have seen over the past decade is America and NATO fighting against this. Gerhard Schroeder is an interesting figure in this struggle

United Germany is dangerous for Anglo+Franco-America, in war and in trade, but eventually America won't be able to contain its sovereignty any longer, going through its very own Weimar period as it is.

Reference me a text that refers to the coming German-Russia alliance. Modern Russia, the state it's in, the level of corruption, the poverty outside of Moscow and Germany is going to align with it? Come on.

Lots of the German political establishment hoped to influence Russia through links built up in the last 20 years. Russia absolutely torpedoed that with the invasion. The idea that Germany is going to chose them as a strategic partner going forward is fucking mental tbh.

Not to mention the whole "Maybe we should develop our own nukes to protect ourselves if Trump wins and the US pulls out of NATO" thing, which doesn't exactly scream "Yay, Russia!"

Germany is so very good at making things, better than anybody except maybe the Japanese. Or at least was for as long as its industrial centres had cheap natural gas (and nuclear) on hand. That talent will emerge if solely economic forces are allowed to play out, which they would be under a Russian security umbrella.

Russia has played with gloves on in Ukraine. Kiev could have been flattened, obviously.

Germany, up till very recently, had all the advantages imaginable - American security, unlimited supply of cheap Russian energy, enormous Chinese markets, euro currency which played to their advantage and strong diplomatic power. Even nuclear was phased out only fairly recently. None of that seems to have helped to restore their will to continue to exist as a nation since they basically have worst demographics in the West (not as bad as Russia's though). Why would a new setup under Russian security umbrella, which would have similar advantages, change that? What would be different?
Also, using Japan as an example is a case in point, because they're good at making everything except babies, so their demographics are beyond salvageable.
