this era imo rightfully reviled but it's funny that the 3 you picked are the most successful bands of that genre and if anything Living Color were note worthy cause they were an all black metal band that had the chops and had a defining hit single (first album having Mick Jagger co-produce it helped aswell imo)
as for Fishbone, they were eclctic but early 90s eclectic when at that particular point in music history a rap group like PM Dawn could have hits on the radio so they're thing was "they don't just play funk metal but they can also do ska, punk and soul JUST ASWELL"
