Jam sandwiches are a bit of a relic. Cheap, filling, but a bit of cultural relic once these islands got out of the psychological, post-war, rationing legacy. They’re still out there though to some extent.
Very glad to hear that. I am happy for the island people too, primitives are always last on these things but it's our jobs to get proper cultural technologies in their hands

US food pluses - pizza, gumbo, biscuits and gravy, crabs, bbq, chilli-dogs, cannolis, diners of the Mom and Pop type and Covid’s probably decimated them, lobster soup/bisque from New Eng....sorry I can’t say that word some days, grinders, far more fresh vegetables than the rest of the world thinks, ridiculous steaks, Philadelphia for even more ridiculous fodder, the whole whose pizza is best lark, fish tacos, Cuban sandwiches, regional traditions of the acceptable kind vs foodie Instagram bs, maybe Covid will drive corn syrup out.

US food lols while not laughing at food poverty - deep fried butter, omelette stations, too many chains to mention, peanut and jelly sarnies, steakums, bread that’s a chemical hell, cheese that’s even worse, fucking up popcorn, corn syrup even in bread, did I say bread, cawfee, not really grasping tea, the perversion of the pig and potato, state fair food stalls, not really being down with lamb, the croissantwich, waste.

Catering is a hard work.

I interviewed Limmy years ago, right before the TV show first aired, and he was exactly like his internet persona. I mean, I've interviewed a decent number of comedians and sometimes it's really good but a lot of them can be really dry, measured and coy, saving their best material for shows and DVDs, with no sense of being able to react off-the-cuff. Limmy was on the phone for an hour, every second word was a swear, and he took a five minute break because he had left his playstation on pause and he could see Ryu's head bobbing up and down and he wanted to "kill the cunt" because it was annoying him.
