Yeah, this is my point. It's not just about Corbyn. Look at how they treated Miliband too. This stuff only ever seems to apply to the current leader of the Labour party.Right, and the Tory rags have been hammering this garbage "beergate/currygate" non-story for weeks, haven't they? With the exception of the Murdoch papers' dalliance with Blair, none of those papers has ever been anything but hostile to any Labour leaders.
(On top of that there's the fringe left media that sprang up around the time Corbyn became LOTO, who'd start an "Ian Huntley for PM" campaign if it came down to him and Starmer. And they don't sell papers, but they're very popular among the terminally online.)
Yeah the press in this country are massively in favour of the tories, go figure. But please also remember that "Red" Ed was castigated for the sins of his Father and for stabbing his more right wing (and less pro- trade union) brother in the back.Yeah, this is my point. It's not just about Corbyn. Look at how they treated Miliband too. This stuff only ever seems to apply to the current leader of the Labour party.
Oh fair enough, I'd misread you.Yeah, this is my point. It's not just about Corbyn. Look at how they treated Miliband too. This stuff only ever seems to apply to the current leader of the Labour party.
Yeah it's all fucking bollocks and totally maddening, isn't it.It's the double standard when it comes to the Tories that most frustrates me. I can't get my head round it. Everything people claim to care about seems to go out the window when it comes to them.
I remember talking to someone and them coming out with the usual rubbish about people in poverty buying too many TVs and expecting to go on expensive holidays then in the next breath defending Dominic Raab ignoring his phone whilst Afghanistan was collapsing because " ... people deserve a holiday... ".
You'd have thought he might have given the embassy in Kabul the number for an underling in case the Taliban took over the country while he was getting his annual fortnight of sangria'n'sunburn in Marbella, though.People do deserve a holiday
If your attack line is why are you on holiday you've already lost
Obviously Raab is a massive cunt but that should be your approach- Raab you're a cunt
Not Raab how is your holiday going
The point is they either do or don't... but it's a bit weird for someone to think that it's sinful for a person below a certain wage level to contemplate even the idea of a holiday at any time, while it's fine for Raab to just jet off and shut his dept whatever happens to be going on the world.People do deserve a holiday
If your attack line is why are you on holiday you've already lost
