heh, funny you should say, because i totally could do that, i just don't feel like it at the moment...

i like how groove centered it is though. now, in the beat-making era, people often get so obsessed with finding the "perfect loop" or whatever that they forget how satisfying it can be to combine that kind of embodied steadiness with more varied and unstable counter voices. letting chaos flow over and coalesce around the groove can actually strengthen/intensify it. so that's what i like about how the drums/vamp and the soloing, etc. interact here. (i think this effect is basically secret knowledge, not outwardly acknowledged yet some people in each generation find new ways to achieve it.)

Guys, I don't think people quite understand how good this is, in particular how good Madlibs verse is. how the hell did they write this stuff? "that which is perfect is finished" Damn.
