It blew my mind when I first watched Stranger Than Paradise and heard the sampleThis is my favourite one he made.
the average grime producer could've just thrown some bass behind that sample and it still would've been great, but what dizzee does with the bleep arpeggio and cutting up the sample to make it even more staccato at the end of each measure takes it to the next level. drums are perfect of course too. still think he was one of the top 2 or 3 grime producers. maybe even my favourite
also there's something so evocative of england in those grime beats that use orchestral strings or pizzicato, I'm not exactly sure why
