André 3000 little flute chant

I’ve only realised recently how influential speaker box was on me when I was about 16 getting into dance music. Pointed me in a lot of directions ghetto tech, Prince, electro, soul

He popped up in White Noise too. I think the first time I saw him act was Guy Ritchie's Revolver. There's a fun one with Mark Wahlberg called Four Brothers as well.
Oh thats right, forgot he was in Four Brothers, and didn't even know he was in White Noise. Haven't seen Revolver though.

There's some real ravey synths in here

Maybe that's a common feature of new age, I haven't heard much

Perfectly respectable ambient/new age effort imo. Quite a few gorgeous stretches, here, too—although also basically unmemorable, in that way a lot of ambient is until you start listening to it.

André 3000 has said New Blue Sun is inspired by Laraaji, Brian Eno, Alice Coltrane, Steve Reich, Pharoah Sanders, and an ayahuasca trip in which he turned into a panther.

File this under 'why is ambient so popular now' (although not sure this album will be that big, and obviously wouldn't be at all without his name attached to it)
