I love 'strings of life' and never got the feeling it was an attempt to sound like real strings, although perhaps that's true but I like that it DOESN'T sound like them, it's really weird — and the chord sequence is so emotive

Obvs derrick may has been outed as a cunt but still great tune imo

yeah it's all smeared and ghostly. But more importantly, it's house.

separate minds - first base is the detroit techno tune which connects detroit to later euro techno and then hardcore.

I don't know if it was an attempt to sound like real strings, I just hate the way it sounds like the quality of those cheap Yamaha keyboards that flooded 80s department stores like Sears.

Fair enough, I like that cheap sound

Maybe (this might be BS but indulge me) I hear it through the ears of someone used to these cheap sounds being used in eg grime and hardcore

It actually sounds quite blueprint for hardcore-y

Yeah, that kind of strings sound doesn't really call that to mind as much as say someone generating sounds with a similar timbre on an analog synth.

lot of the strings in hardcore are sampled and then pitched in incongruous ways so I definitely here where corpse is coming from.

little bit naff tune if you think about it hard enough from the futurist angle so don't. just let your neurons get lit up in pleasure.
