how come people aren't going absolutely berserk for e-40 and keak's tell me when to go? great video of people "ghostriding the whip" (dancing outside cars while they're STILL MOVING!!!), thizz-facing etc. actually illustrates some of the slang a lot of british people might find baffling.

I am. but then I live here. heh.

But NOTHING beats dropping that in the middle of a breakcore set. People fell over!

Most of it's at around 100ish so it breaks up the 100/200 stuff nicely. I did end it with Electromeca and Shadow+Keak

the beats. and the flow ... and it is awesome how they are so instructional - here's what scrapin' is, here's the thizzle dance (is that Tom Waits?) here's ghost ridin the whip..

1. Too Short lives in Atlanta now. (i know this doesn't have much to do with your question but hey)
2. Alot of big hyphy tracks are produced by rick rock, e-a ski and e-40's son; droop-e
3. The bay area <-> southern rap connection has a long and storied history.
4. put your stunna shades on :)

shake ya dreads even if you don't have em..

There's an amusing interview with E-40 in this month's XLR8R.
The rest of the mag is the usual puff-pieces tho.

hi gumdrops I posted a hyphy mix here on dissensus:

http://www.dissensus.com/showthread.php?t=4715

Also Mistah Fab has a show Called- Yellow Bus Radio here in the bay on wild 94.9 on friday nights. I think it can be streamed.
http://www.wild949.com/listenlive.html

Also E-40 has a show on KMEL Sunday Afternoons.
http://www.106kmel.com/listenlive.html

Mistah FAB's Slappin in Da trunk series is really good by the way. No 2 just came out (although it is not really a mixtape per se just a mix of tunes).

To stay up on what is going on the street level I usually go to this forum:

there are a bunch more I will make a list as well.

Hope this helps.

OK - Any top Hyphy tunes / albums emerged in the last 3 months.

I'm in Australia so I'm banking on you guys to help me out here.

P.S. Loved the video for "Tell Me When To Go"...

just picked up that mixtape, that stuff is great! When i was 14/15 i used to listen to a load of solesides/quannum stuff, is there any crossover between the older guys and this new scene? Any of the old souls of mischief making hyphy beats now? How big are these guys in America? Any hyphy records crossing over to the mainstream or, at least into fairly mainstream clubs?
