In the case of Hilton v Bono, its the difference between something that is flimsily, flagrantly crappy (Hilton- a piece of flotsam floating by relatively harmlessly on the top) and something far more insidious, a man widely accepted as a Broadsheet-approved saviour (both aesthetically and politically)-- just read that Morely Bono fellating piece he did a while back in OMM for evidence of this, absolutely disgusting... the complete mainstream consensus on Bono's saintliness and musical genius is repugnant- despite the fact that underlying his "good works" is a sense that all that is necessary is that capitalism be made "smarter"- see his launching of the "Red" series of products (ie- low down corporate schlepping of the worst order)... his unwillingness to see that he exemplifies and benefits from the very aspects of capitalism which create the problems which he "campaigns" against is the icing on cake...
