Have to say, though, my view of Jacko was definitively clouded by this article back in '04. It was the apparently minor detail that his voice was considerably lower in real life than the girlish falsetto he'd emit on TV - the voice of a normal 40-something man, in fact - that sort of did it for me: the rest fell into place after that, the drugs and porn and inapproriate "friendships" and doll-lined staircase, and the other sinister gubbins.
