NYE in London

If I were here for NYE i'd be on joyride in a second; it's round the corner from me and some old mates are playing there that it'd be nice to see. but alas, i'm going to a street party in a small town in the very north of scotland that will either be wonderful or awful. I don't think there'll be an in between.

How many do you reckon that Joyride warehouse space will take then?
if its the one i heard it was, being used in the same way (which may not be correct) i would say maybe 650-750 or something. which i guess is a lot, it just seems like the kind of thing that may draw well beyond that. the guestlist thing implies that they're dealing with the matter though...

How was Joyride, for anyone who managed to get there/get in?
I got down onthe list, but then decided it was too far. Then bought tickets for Ewan Pearson at the T Bar. And...decided it was too far at 11pm on the night...

haha, well... got the train through at about 10, all carraiges packed with skinny jeans lumberjack shirts etc, got to the venue at 10:15 to find the venue full and a crowd of at least 500 (if not substantially more) frustrated youngsters swarming the venue! there was a good atmosphere around though
ended up at a house party in Hackney, i had a great night

if squats are your thing and park royal wasnt you on nye then boy you missed out. venue was off the hook (3 buildings complex), shitloads of soundsystems/crews, and thousands of people. bit scummy, but there you go. great night.

park royal is near enough to be considered acton yeah, and it was a very very big one, although i did hear that there were a few more going on in acton proper the same night.

well i found out via the malfaiteurs line (which they openly advertise on their website)
malfaiteurs are a crew that run a nice but smallish soundsystem playing acid/techno, but on major occassions like new years eve etc... often several crews will link up to offer multiple soundsystems at a party. i knew malfaiteurs would probably link up with manik, and on their line they said it was gonna be a big one. but if it wasnt for their party line i wouldnt have known.
