From Sunday 4th October, 1Xtra will be invaded by a new flock of DJ talent.

There’s a new show landing on Sunday nights from 1am – In New 1Xtra DJs We Trust.

* Our very own Twin B will be presenting one of the shows, showcasing new UK DJ and production talent. 1st Sun of every month.

* Footloose will be continuing his house show, presenting up and coming stars from that world. 2nd show of every month.

2 new faces to 1Xtra we’re really excited about too..

* Trail blazer Redlight will be holding down the 3rd Sunday of every month, with a mixture of dirty electro and brand new sounds from the world of electronic music.

* AND as if that wasn’t enough, to hold down the 4th Sunday of every month in TRUE DUBSTEP STYLE is RUSKO!!!

So that’s In New 1Xtra DJs We Trust, launching 4th October on Sunday nights from 1am…

So Grime is not even worth 1 show a month?

Electro house on 1xtra makes more sense then Grime now. Fuck me.

So who to nominate for the actual post of Grime DJ on 1xtra..

I'd say Magic since he is organising all this. JJ or Vectra if he doesnt want to. Just got to keep those two out of their funky hand bags.

Why not you? You make more sense than JJ or Vectra. JJ is a bit too crew-affiliated and Vectra is just shit.

I wouldn't want the pressure of having to represent the whole Grime scene, were I am right now on Rinse, I can just play the stuff I really enjoy that nobody else really touches. I cant stand a lot of the vocal side as well.

Magic is well connected, talks to all the MCs, producers etc and what he does more encompasses the whole scene.

Vectra is heavy, he has the skills and again is well connected, and has by far the most radio experience of all 3. I think he has been on Rinse for 5 years or something.

JJ has the ability and the connects to do it well, just got to stay away from that dusty funky.

Actually saying that, 12 shows a year is easy innit Blackdown!

You'd make a better host than both of them, and as far as being well connected, you'd make the connections once you were on 1xtra very quickly. Vectra isn't exactly shit really, but I just don't feel his show would be a very good representation of the grime scene as a whole. A show like that is different from rinsing on pirates and playing in raves, and I don't think his skills extend beyond those things.

I think JJ could do a good job actually, he'd just have to mind his crew obligations. And the funky.

Magic would be a good choice probably because he has the smarts, though he doesn't do a lot of radio does he? I can't even really predict how he'd come over in that format.

No bred, but I've been listening to Rinse for years and while I think a few other DJs could probably make pretty good justice of a 1xtra slot, I don't really think anyone is more up to the job than you are. Shame you're not really interested.

Sickboy is speaking the truth there, and he's not even in this country ;) Sometimes the road rises to meet you, sometimes you rise and meet the road - paraphrasing old Irish proverb but big up yrself man. You're enough of a vanguard to have reached and continously posted on this forum, which I appreciate anyway.

well rusko has been given a show, so i guess it was.

that whole grime show thing is a joke aswell.

He used to do a 'Rap' show. Which featured all UK acts from Grime, Hip Hop and Road Rap on a sunday night. This has been cancelled and he is doing drive time 4-7 Monday to Thursday.
