That which uses the human body to hasten the organization of matter, that which gives rise to the synthetic in order to override the natural, has been accelerating its reach, expanding the jurisdiction of physical order.

Everything human surrounding this force can be thought of as regulatory. Not just regulating the chemical health of the body, but also regulating an ever more abstract superstructure built upon the physical body, a regulation that consists of flows of new usurping bastions of old, and bastions of old suppressing flows of new. This superstructure consists of everything ideal, the total interplay of ideas, conflict of theses, contention of beliefs - everything that has guided the development of culture and ideology.

In a sense, the ideal plays the role of the virtual manager of the actual labor of the material.

So almost any point, looking back on some prior point, will be looking back on a more confined reach, a less elaborate superstructure, a less nuanced and robust means of realizing order. Yesterday's whole resembles but a part of Today, and Today's whole resembles but a part of Tomorrow. (edit: so not a proper fractal, but a fractal in which every layer/order of parts is qualitatively different)

What are the thoughts on what role machine learning will play in x years time?

In what ways can the global stock market be more automated than it currently is (and how is it currently automated)?

At what point will data collection be intricate enough, and the data itself vast enough, to start changing how people get the news? Could there be a machine journalism at some point? Between surveillance, records, online post history, etc - could we eventually develop algorithms for piecing news stories together?

What about data production? Seeing as it is something that can produced merely by things/people subsisting, rather than requiring some concerted effort, how might an economy of data work?

CRISPR becomes a big problem circa 2025 as reports start to surface of the extremely wealthy having their babies customized in China. Class lines again becomes the orienting conflict, as previous cope cover-ups of genetic inheritance (treating "breeding" like a joke) can no longer suffice.

Thats what I was trying to get at in the alt-right thread (which surely must not have been a good look in the eyes of newcomers), that such tech could be the singularity of economic inequality. Assuming it hasn't already been underway in some stage.

It could be the worst prison of darkness or a major breakthrough, hard to read. What isn't hard to ruminate on are the likely coin sources investing in it, if they aren't already. Tory govt would love that libertarian meets pvt/public healthcare initiative hybrid bollocks. Only on the fence because of the current blue whale in the way. We know it works, still taboo though. Sums Britain up.

The NHS needs new entry pathways for people retraining into so many different sectors. Complete upgrade in mental health. That needs a plan, prob not going to get one for now. There's a world of change needed for addiction. People like this are a phenomena of will and common sense up against every conceivable form of governmental incompetence
