Now I am not British so I have no special beef with Digweed and the lot. I dislike that prog sound from the end 90s, but 5 years earlier I was in my early teens and I enjoyed these tracks, which I am pretty sure was on Digweed's plate back then. I mostly experienced these tracks home, and sober (and alone). Still do:

The thing is the masses don't really count. They're non people. Just a kind of paste in the centre of things.

There was a war among critics which I think was worth fighting but it's irrelevant to actual human beings

That thing Reynolds did where he said if you want your music to be 'intelligent' that means your a loser nerd, that was a funny and clever thing to do.

my beef isn't with Reynolds who I concur with for the most part, it's with Simon silver. there was no war, just a bunch of middle aged blokes. he just left me hanging like that. silly ponce.

For me personally i don't like dance music or dance culture. Not my cup of tea. I'm anti dance music. Anti club culture.

Mihon waay too sophisticated/tasteful. I am sure Digweed never played that one.

What about this :

must be proto prog house. as ever the stuff that comes before the main genre is more interesting.

Silver Dollar is a drugs monster all he wants to do is go clubbing and take drugs every single night. He's a hedonist. I'm a philosopher, a deep thinker. I like staying in and staring at the wall

yes. this is why you have to squash him into the ground. tell him that ambient techno is jungle for the person who stares at walls. he must conduct his fight against prog house and trance. and then he will have to be forced to concede that garage was not really futuristic, as fantastic music as it was.
