gus made a very nice observation that one of the films best qualities was its depiction of the french. Subhuman savages. We go near two hours before getting a good humanizing look at their faces, despite several close encounters up to that point. Only two frenchmen get proper screen time and one is a bug looking man literally bursting from the floor boards attempting to get a cowardly stab at Lucky Jack after the battle is long done.
Actually you have totally missed the point of the film. The French were carbon copies. That's the whole point you neanderthal. It was a delicately poised war, anything could have happened.
