i mean compared to the stuff going on in that vodka / chic raw stuff i was listening to earlier the lyrics are much denser and more interesting / enjoyable EDIT in the vodka chic raw

i mean their style of rap as cliche as it sounds is more labyrintian the change in rhyme patterns flows,how it tosses you into the hedge maze and wants you to keep up with them, no assistance at hand

Mobb Deep aren't like that not to say that their raps are any less sophisticated in their own way, i'd argue Havoc while often regarded as the lesser half is very much of that Big Daddy Kane school where his raps sound casual but that's only through rigor and training to make it sound like that and the moments of poetic detail adds to the lyrics in what they're depicting as the frontlines of NY in 93

Mobb Deep's a mood thing more than anything, imo. They're conjuring a world; fog and drizzle seeping out the speaker.

i like the delivery. i'm not faulting that at all. but they just did the same thing i'm on about "it's good/in the hood/knock on wood". something like that. maybe it just ain't for me

I don't think it matters if woops doesn't like it and there's no point trying to browbeat him into it but at the same time I think it's good to hear why it means a lot to people, how they experience it, the nuances they have picked up on through living with the record for so many years etc.

i mean Chic Raw @woops is speaking on the same topics but Chic's approach has more of an emphasis on shock and awe rather than quietly seeping from the speakers, every bar is clear and direct so you can never miss the details.

Very much a product of a battle rap environment

And all you can really do, I think, is to offer better readings, to demonstrate you've listened better essentially and that by listening better came to a proper appreciation of the object
