what are these places like rich? i assumed the one that's in the article was that fairly central bit with a load of bars, that has a rainbow painted down one of the streets

Pink Street is a horrible tourist trap nightmare with dreadful bars blaring out awful music until six am every night of the week. But there are some nicer, if not quite my type, areas nearby, inevitably I guess cos the city is so small.
edit - I mean there are bits of Cais do Sodre that are nicer than pink street, the neighbourhood as a whole is not horrible.
