Charli has a good marketing team. The 'Brat' stuff's all over the internet atm. I read something the other week where the writer was stressing that what sells pop these days is lore and that both Charli and Taylor Swift get this whereas Dua Lipa doesn't, which is why her album came and went whilst the other two's are still being talked about.

boasting for a while was something you only really heard in rap. it's seeped out. in this kind of pop music it's the girls who are boasting. that wasn't allowed before

shes started using a 'bri'ish' voice that no one british person uses, instead its an americans impersonation of a british accent. quite odd.

was listening to the Spotify USA Top 50 in bushwick the other day walking from nowadays (i went to Long Gong which involved one man playing a gong for several hours in the middle of the dancefloor and about six other people lying on mats on the floor around him) to the J. something has reversed in pop music for the moment, the songs where men are singing are all vulnerable and introspective, the songs where women are singing are all sex and power. these four featured prominently
