I thought the wheat fields in Covenant were super promising but not used as well as they should've been. Signs wouldve made for good inspo

At least Michael Bay knows what he loves. It's a profoundly childish love, where bigger equals better, more money equals better, etcetera. But at least he loves something.

What becomes clear if you watch an interview with him is that Ridley loves himself.

James Cameron is a big dweeb whose worldview barely progressed past middleclass suburban liberal boomeritis, but at least he's got one

Old magazine clippings of Cameron personally responding to people criticising Aliens.

Scott is 70 years old: Has he managed to develop a worldview in that time? Do I need to answer that?

The thing a lot of people seem to say about him is he comes off as more interested in androids than aliens. There's a lot of Blade Runner in Prometheus.

Nice to hear Scott explicitly affirm that the Alien androids ("the company man") is a direct Hal reference. Prioritizing mission over the people carrying it out.

And I like the distillation of Blade Runner as "the hunter falls in love with his quarry"
