watched alien and aliens coz of this thread. i think all these kinds of films are about an enjoyment of watching Control breaking down. the basic parameters of life shifting and having to figure it out. loads of people want to see that. in alien(s) it's human supremacy that's the parameter that changes

alien is really good, haven't seen it before, brilliant film. you can see the change in the pace and unreality of cinema from the 70s to the 80s in alien and aliens. in alien everything happens slowly and patiently and the people act like people. in aliens everythings moving much faster and the people are more like cartoons. a puerto rican with a bandana and a vulnerable but feisty little girl

This could also go in Luke's 'Industrial London' thread. A load of the interior stuff from the second film was done inside a disused London power station. There's an imgur folder of pics someone's mate's dad took inside when he worked there as an electrician. It's where some of the Axis Chemical scenes in Tim Burton's Batman were done too.

i was toying with starting a thread about whether films are still culturally influential or something and i thought they are in as much as they still seed archetypes and act as strange attractors joker is important, iron man was crucial in developing the elon musk mythos, it basically invented elon musk in fact.
