They'll build their plants/factories in the U.S. to avoid tariffs. Americans will get jobs, and costs will lower for everyone. It's an 18-24 month long process.

Hope noone dies in those 18 or so months... and hope it's true obviously. Which it isn't.

In the short term, it is going to hurt. In the long term, it seems like it will be great. Gen Alpha will have more opportunities than McDonald's and Starbucks. I hope they are working at Apple, TSMC, Oracle, etc...

Interesting how many Trump supporters I'm seeing saying stuff like this

In other words pretending to celebrate the worsening standard of living that Trump is bringing in as it will usher in 'minimal living'.

Yesterday they said Trump was going to improve standards of living...

Reminds me of some of the Brexit supporters saying food shortages would be good because people could do with a bit of rationing then everyone moaning when the supermarkets were empty and Darren Grimes posting pictures of empty shelves under Boris saying this is what would happen if Corbyn got in.

I also think of Bojo saying that he would rather be dead in a ditch than let anybody delay beexit... and then it was delayed and people said "it's not his fault".

It's weird to me that people - Mixed Up Biscuits - can't grasp that if someone says "I promise nothing will stop me from doing x" then it's not an excuse to say "Oh it was out of his hands".

If this report's true and isn't some faction within the US government feeding the press disinformation, it's increasingly difficult to see any possibility other than Trump, or someone in his inner circle, being compromised in some fashion.

A recent memo at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (Cisa) set out new priorities for the agency, which is part of the Department of Homeland Security and monitors cyber threats against US critical infrastructure. The new directive set out priorities that included China and protecting local systems. It did not mention Russia.
A person familiar with the matter who spoke to the Guardian on the condition of anonymity said analysts at the agency were verbally informed that they were not to follow or report on Russian threats, even though this had previously been a main focus for the agency.

This guy ties all that up with neoreactionary stuff

Once again, the fool that has never even stepped foot here, they think they have insight in to how much race is central (or not central at all as seems to be their claim) to American identity.
They also try to deny that large swathes of the population had a collective meltdown over having a black president (THE ORIGINAL DERANGEMENT SYNDROME), and wait - didn't people just vote into office, for the second time, a man, that among other things, that touted that racist birther conspiracy?

I dunno, maybe they're right.
That explains all those white people, just minding their own business, getting harassed and detained by ICE.

That's not even mention all of the decades and time I've spent in red states during my life, where if I now I had a dime for every time I heard "nigger this" or "or nigger that" by some person in some situation, I'd be a rich as elon musk.
Or heard rants about the various ways black people are just bad people, or things along the lines of that they're only good for two things - music and sports.

Konpromat isn’t even required is his guess, incentives are already aligned … but I suspect they have interesting films

Oh I'm sure they will... bad news for all the Trump voters getting the biscuits treatment and waiting for that to happen though.
Pretty sure most of them won't be able to afford biscuits. Not even really crappy, cheap ones.

Republicans are being directed to pull the plug on town halls now because they keep being criticised during them. They're claiming anyone angry's a paid actor too, obviously. Nobody could be genuinely angry.

Never mind the fact that yelling about "fake money" is kind of funny given the new regime's enthusiasm for crypto (and crypto scams).

i guess these are the kind of takes the thread is inviting. we all want to understand what's going on and find some threads of consistency, motives, ideology etc the neoreactionary stuff does seem to be a through-line of sorts. and even in trumps first term there was the shadow of some larger but concealed ideological project at work, one that transcended international borders and the usual inter-state rivalries and emnities.

it could just be mad chaos a demented aged egomaniac doing whatever but its natural to try and find patterns

Between 2005 and 2010, a set of books called “Project Russia” was distributed to high-ranking officials in the Russian government and other influential thought leaders. The books offered a detailed program of spiritual warfare against Western democracies culminating in “controlled global collapse” and the establishment of a “supranational” state headed by a Prince-Monk who “best understands the world.” The plan described is ultimately a program for subjugating the world, which would also be united together in a single religion.
