This ep includes a track called Mind War which has artillery barrage percussion throughout, and the main riff on horsepower is reminiscent of a Patriot missile ascending to destroy a returning RAF Tornado bomber.

I think the native tongues stuff sounds a little less dated cos it sort of anticipates the 1993/4 style of sampling jazz records, it's slower, more laid back etc.

Of interest perhaps that dance music in Europe/UK sped up while hip hop slowed down.

It seems to be what the UK nuum scene has done to American music--speed it up. Not sure why. Drugs?

I wonder too if the higher speed of earlier hip hop was to do with the drugs they were doing. I recall reading about early hip hop parties involving a lot of angel dust etc.
