Bedroom Techno

Are you gonna do a mix DLaurent?

Don't have decks anymore. 2000 records in storage and most of them Drum and Bass, which I don't listen to anymore. :) Other than being a techno raver, I only learn about the tracks from youtube these days.

This one is nice enough in the first half, calms the soundless thudding in your ears at 7am and it should soon dissolve you into sleep... then it starts Morse coding something very important and you're pulled back into the room, but you don't mind.

Much of this is too "clean" or spacey, synth sounding to me, but some of the stuff is hard not to love:

not sure I get the "bedroom" tag, to me that implies super homemade lo-fi sounding. most of this sounds like is IDM, maybe with a splash of the early Detroit techno.

yer i think of bedroom techno as weirdo russian nerd bandcamp stuff. there's a bit of that starting to emerge.
or like:

one for Benny B.

The big appeal of this is that it's kitsch and dated in a pleasing way. The charming Utopianism of a vanished world. Like the robots from 1950s movies. Or Victorian proto Sci Fi. It's impossible to take it seriously but it's also got that sadness that's attached to superseded or cancelled dreams
