When I was 13 years old, "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)" made it's presence known on MTV. I have always been obsessed with music, but when I saw Kurt Harland's colorful hair, the flashy cardboard instruments, and the mixture of relatable songwriting and wonderful music production... I was gone! I told myself that "I do that! I can do that!" For Christmas that year, I got my first keyboard and started making up songs on the spot, to the point my mom told me to take the keyboard into my bedroom instead of torturing her with it.
