He'll emulate Gheorghe Hagi and finish his career at Galatasaray
So Messi will cost anyone who wants him 700m befor you get into wages and stuff. That definitely puts rather a different complexion on what's gonna happen doesn't it?Reports on Saturday night claimed the 33-year-old’s €700m release clause no longer applies in the final year of his contract but a statement from the Spanish league’s governing body on Sunday denied that is the case.
“In compliance with the applicable rule, La Liga will not approve a request to be deregistered as a player with the Spanish football federation, unless the amount in the release clause has been paid,” La Liga said in a statement.
Does that mean they think they can ignore the 700m or are they putting together a package that is worth over a billion?Manchester City are prepared to pay 33-year-old Barcelona and Argentina forward Lionel Messi £450m as part of a five-year plan that would eventually see him join New York City FC.
Shockingly woeful performance- static in the midfield, crossing was abysmal, slow sideways build up. Still haven’t watched a decent Rice performance. Walker has always played with at least one mistake in him. Gomes gave away a silly pen. England really lack a creative midfield presence. The Iceland penalty miss was pretty symptomatic of an utterly forgettable match.Anyone watch the England game? I was out for most of the day so I didn't catch it but sounds like they made hard work of it.
I did like this comment on the Guardian.
DeltaMusicTango: Irresponsible by Wanker to get himself sent of like that.
DeltaMusicTango: Sorry, autocorrect error. Should have said "off".
I did watch Portugal completely outclass an uninterested looking Croatia. 4-1 flattered them greatly.... I think Portugal hit the woodwork four or five times.
"Not much happened, to be honest. I am off to make a coffee."
