“When he actually transferred from Dortmund to Real Madrid, we struck up a conversation. I was really impressed by his maturity and how talented he is, although of course everyone can see that. He's got a great future because of what's in his brain and what he's really focused on.”
Some thoughts on Bellingham there from "an investor and chairman of the advisory board at Birmingham City" Tom Brady... what is it with all these North Americans stars such as him and Ryan Reynolds getting involved with um less glamorous football clubs such as Wrexham etc
Can't wait to see the ultimate vanity project at Man City shrivel up and die after demotion to the National League.Wrexham could look at Bury and assess where they might be in a decade if the $’s run thin
Vanity projects, they come, they enjoy the hoopla, they leave. They bask in promotion and hide during relegation dogfights when league football status is on the line. Not that Bury ever had a $ investment but McIlhenny would suck off an itinerant if it got him any press coverage
What does a lower league team do if £ comes calling? Really tough call but capitalism and gnosis aren’t made for each other. Look what Bury’s fans had to do to gain access to Gigg Lane etc, fuckin brutal
The Xavi thing is such an insane mess. Last week they were celebrating persuading him to stay... and to then fire him? One of the club's greatest ever servants. The whole thing seems wrong. It feels that he went there too early, as too inexperienced a manager. That maybe he should have waited, had a career and grown as a manager, but of course when it was dangled in front of him it was all but impossible to resist. But supposed ge leaves, has a successful career at various clubs, ultimately becomes ready to manage Barca, will they offer if him again? Seems unlikely, it feels the chance has gone forever cos he they rushed it.
I'm also reading that he's entitled to 20m if the contract is broken - originally he said he wouldn't take it cos he was the one leaving. But it's different now, with the way they treated him why shouldn't he take it? And if they can't pay it that's kinda their problem right?

He was going to be our replacement for Kane and now he's going to Jamaica.Man Utd need someone to bang in a few goals, maybe they should move for that exciting young striker at Marseille.
