So Manchester City are into the final of the world club cup! It's been a long tough campaign beginning with the semi-final against, er, some team from Japan who managed one shot during their three nil defeat. They will face Fluminese in the final, seems the South American champions also get a pass straight to their semi which means that unsurprisingly enough the world club champion will be from either Brazil or England. The third best team in the world will be denied in a play-off between Urawa Red Diamonds and Al-Ahly.

OK so it's a bit of a joke that they played this Japanese team in the semi-final, but predictably enough they faced their South American equivalents in the final. Man City v Fluminese of Brazil for the right to be called World Club Champions - it proved another tough game for City with Fluminese managing to hold out for one whole minute before finally the dam burst and they conceded. They did manage to keep it down to four though. So... is Brazilian club football much weaker than I expected or was this a freak result or what?

This guy Alvarez is about twenty-two or something and I think he was literally every single honour possible in football.

Insane games recently with large goal totals, quality goals too

add all the CL games from last week, PSG game just got silly with goals, followed by Coventry today ‘echoes of 87‘ etc
