drill is pretty formulaic by design though isn't it? seems to me it has always followed a pretty narrow doctrine of expression that never allowed for Pa Salieu's more singular, agnostic ambitions. don't know if it's actually become more rigid or it's just the same formula that has become less palatable.
There's something very religious about this music I think.
As I said before, in the very defined doctrines of expression. A devoutness. The videos always featuring groups of people dancing in the same staunch manner, a fervent commitment to something communal and holy. It's in the production explicitly as well. Church like choir voices, beats articulating an outwards explosion of energy, transcending the individual, assembling some higher spirit.
The last two Abra titles - Spin This Coupe and Show Me - are based on bars from On Deck. He's opted for the tunneling approach, intensification rather than innovation. It's cool, but also milking it.
That's good though isn't it. Otherwise you don't have a thing. Just a misguided attempt to 'show versatility.' Wiley got his eski thing and drove it into the ground because it was good enough that one bite wasn't enough,
This is the inherent problem with the UK, product of my fucking environment. It's framed as a guardian review. It's baaaaad. Can you not do that please
