    Kwaito resources?

So now that Afrodesia is no more, where's the best place online to get tunes from SA?

In China they give them out really freely.

    Jackin' / Electroline

Yeah the jackin went off at Shelter, NATO went a bit mad when he heard it. Such an obvious thing to say but it sounds so much better over a good system. As an aside, there are places that push good music in China, and not even just in Shanghai or Beijing, but yeah Shelter and Dada are two of...

    Jackin' / Electroline

I've had this same feeling about jackin tunes too, sometimes they just feel... slow. NATO has played me a few jackin tunes, some I quite like but I think similar to a lot of people I'm not really sold on it (yet). Haven't heard them played in a club though yet in fairness.

    selling vinyl records in London

what second hand shops are still around these days? I'm going to be back in London in February for the first time in a year and a half and want to grab as much vinyl as I can. Looks like all the places mentioned in the thread are still open, any others opened up/shut down? Viktorvaughan, I'd...

Your preferred digital DJ system and why

I've been using Serato SL1 for the last few years and I've decided to upgrade it. I'd been thinking I'd get the SL3, but now I've looked into it the only difference between it and the SL2 seems to be it has one more input. Are there definitely no substantial differences between them? Obviously...

Where can you get that Amanda tune? Google isn't helping.

    Jackin' / Electroline

Yeah this track's big. Reached its download limit on soundcloud though and doesn't seem to be available anywhere else... Not really checked the other tracks in the thread apart from the ones continuum first put up - wasn't really into those but there's no denying this tune even if it could do...

spongebob - most important dubstep track of last five or so years?

I think the thing is that tracks like Spongebob and Cockney Thug had a ridiculousness to them that Coki and Rusko were most likely aware of. The problem was when it all became very serious and (teenage) angsty. Like this: That was what set the stage for where things are now, where dubstep to...

The press release hall of shame thread

DJ Spenny's website - http://www.djspenny.com I think he's committed a lot of sins with this website, but he claims to be friends with P Diddy so what do I know.

    Dubstep

The nu-metal/dubstep cross-over was brewing for a long time though wasn't it. I remember a post on here a few years back promoting The Truth (released some tunes on Deep Medi) and in the promo picture they looked like some nu-metal band. Quite a hilarious/bizarre interview though e.g. the quote...

    How England Sees Itself

Going back to the original post, surely Niall Ferguson deserves a mention. Has anyone ever bothered to read any of his books? Can't say that I have, but I did watch an interview with him on the Wall Street Journal website that was shockingly bad. I'm yet to hear or read anything from him that is...

if New York can die so can London

Yeah think Camberwell/Peckham/New Cross is the next place. As Sloane says you can already see indications of it. The fact it hasn't go tube connections makes it easier as rents are cheaper, although I guess they'll go up once all the new overground stuff is completed (that loop around London).

Yeah thought so too. Marcus Nasty played that night as well.

    Beer And Beer Drinking

Way back in the thread I think Mr Tea was a bit dismissive of Belgian beers. They are undoubtedly my favourite though, this one included.

if New York can die so can London

Regarding boosterism, I think part of the problem is it seems a lot of music journalists are also friends with the people making the music they're writing about with obvious consequences. This is a case in point - http://thequietus.com/articles/06490-sonar-festival-2011-review. Don't know if the...
