Power and corruption at Radio 1

I'd agree with much of the first post. Re : tong. worked with him once, putting together a soundtrack for a film. his office consistently lied about what we could license, replacing our choices with tracks 'of the same genre' and then spannered in stacks of irrelvant London/fffr tracks at the...

    what are you reading now?

back when I used to go to readings I caught up with Ellroy several times. always admired how he's turned his life around and focussed his obsessions into something creative: his mother's murder, drug addiction and petty crime. he saw me stealing the books as I queued up to meet him, he was...

    Time-Travel

actually I'd settle for any of these. Good call. I might even be tempted to pick 1958 so I could intercept Burroughs and Bryon Gysin, warn them of the dangers of experimenting with time :D

    Time-Travel

east london in the 90s, for the real estate or new york in the late 70s / early 80s, for disco and punk or to time travel back to myself in childhood and discreetly tag along for a few decades, until I get round to the time travel moment, to see what happens. Interesting to watch your own...

    what are you reading now?

Been out of touch with novels and I needed escapism so I just lugged my way through the Pullman trilogy. It's a comfy ride, certainly worth a look if you haven't read any fantasy for decades

    Making Money.

I'd hold back on making money for a couple of years and go to university, use the resources: dark rooms, film equipment, libraries, lectures, computers, grants, and take of the student magazine. You can work on the writing at the same time.

    Strings of life

top of my list is 'Glenn Campbell - Wichita Lineman'. But I'm pushed to think of any more, there's too many - Beach Boys (circa pet sounds), John Cale, so much prog and 70s AOR ('ELO - so fine'), easy-listening (esquivel), cinematic (barry adamson), fusion (marhavisnu orchestra, haha), not...
