    Drum'n'bass 98-99

This is from 1997. Timeless sound and the production quality stands to this day.

    Drum'n'bass 98-99

For me this tune is epitome of drum'n'bass. At least when you think it in terms of original rudeboy dnb where mcs have importance. Should I call this 'pirate radio drum'n'bass'?

    Drum'n'bass 98-99

Then there were the jazzy and funky drum'n'bass. I always liked these when they were the right ones. Because I think sometimes the jazzy stuff could be too much "let's make real music"-type, without the club-feel and dnb swagger. Always liked funky tunes, so when liquid funk emerged in early...

Harsh beats without breakbeats, and it's from 1996!!!

@maxi big up for making the mixes!

    Drum'n'bass 98-99

Early neurofunk was combination of funk (it still had the 'funk' part), techno sophistication and techstep growling. At times very stylish music. Writing this makes me think of experimenting with neurofunk techno: style which has funk samples, chords/stabs, growling techstep-bass and of course...

    Drum'n'bass 98-99

Nice technical beats. Obviously this is matter of taste, but I like that they're not too drumfunk-y.

    Drum'n'bass 98-99

Always listened to the remix of 'Ed Rush & Optical - Funktion', but this orginal mix is rawer. That Goldie track sounds like it's made before 98-99, but nonetheless, he kept his original vision.

Yes, the years Dissensus doesn't like at all, and when it was time to move to UK garage. I'm also one of those who doesn't feel so much those years either, but when I started to listen to dnb/jungle in my teens, this sound was mostly what was available in CDs I bought and radio shows I listened...

    Drum and Bass in 2000s

Early 2000s were the golden era in dnb.

    The feel of the 2010's

Popularity of Old Web might be one of the backlashes. In old web there's no notifications, thus you're not constantly in, no constant holiday photos to envy and feel bad about your life, no FOMO, no constant feed burying what you're sharing or no algorithm to please, thus denying your true self...

    The feel of the 2010's

Late 90s early 00s were the Y2K era, the Playstation era. Thinking in terms of aesthetics and music, 2000s begun properly somewhere in 03/04. I'd say that 2008 was still aughties, and it feels like the decade only ended in '12. This is again, based largely on aesthetics/music, but IMO after...

    the old internet as psyche

Inclusion can be tricky thing. I'm all for inclusion and accessibility, I hate elitism, but when jerk users and vapid posts arrives to the community, do you then have to accept them in the name of inclusion? That wouldn't be reasonable anymore IMO, and I think it doesn't yet make you an elitist...

    the old internet as psyche

Been browsing a lot of old internet-style sites recently - inspiring stuff. There is longing for the old web. Here's bunch of links I gathered: Search engine for lightweight / old web-style sites: https://wiby.me/ Cool old style website: https://sadgrl.online/ Articles...

    Dissensus Raw Productions

Here's one of my older jungle tunes now released. Plasmateck is a bit different compared to the warm and rooted jungle sound. It has Metalheadz vibe with it's nasty rave synth. The bittersweet atmosphere comforts yous, while the slamming amen drops will keep you awake. STREAM/BUY

New jungle track on Soundcloud. That melodic style, but not in uplifting way like my previous tunes:

    Sundissential?

You have to respect how hard-nrg was carrying the old rave sounds though.

    what the kids are into

Interesting thing is that Gen-Z have taken the term breakcore for themselves, and use it for this PS1 aesthetics internet jungle. Just imagine how embarassing it would be to go tell them "achhhssctually, breakcore is made by producers like Alec Empire and Shitmat".
