    Chance or Aleatoric music

What I have consists of scenes 3 to 20 secs long. Some are loopable and only move on when triggered by ableton. Others are non-loopable and structured according to the ableton layout.

    Chance or Aleatoric music

Awesome stuff coming up. I think a better description of the software I'm developing is in order. I can't go into specifics as I have a patent in the works but hopefully you get the jist. I guess the initial idea came from looking at the modernist drive towards narrative fragmentation in 20th...

    Chance or Aleatoric music

It's video based with osc controls. Oh man, I just think I found the title for it. :D Thanks, there are some good suggestions here I will start reading up on. Seems like Merce Cunningham also used some of the same concepts in his work in the 60s.

    Chance or Aleatoric music

In simple terms, where to start? Musically and theoretically. Currently I'm in the middle of developing a software application on multi-linear and chance storytelling. My research started in literature with Joyce, Hayles, Rosenblatt, Derrida, etc. but more and more I'm coming across bits of...

records that sound better at the wrong speed

Remember this appearing a couple places a few months back. I never liked the original but this version is much better. http://stokingtheroots.com/2008/09/01/metallica-ride-the-lightning-33-rpm-rip/ http://www.mediafire.com/?wj0mwjy2dxm

    Hip Hop 09?

What do you guys think of keek da sneek? Is he a good rapper? Good lyrics? His voice is unlike any rapper I can think of. Rap is just a reconfiguration of the beat but he reconfigures the timbre. Its his voice that makes him dope. Not much of a lyricist.

    The sacred cows

Wild Cows It's odd all the defending of certain artists. The point of the thread was to call out "... the artists who can do no wrong in the eyes of music journalists" but blatantly have put out a piece of shit of two. Nothing should be scared because no artist has a perfect track record. None...

    Good find. Anyone know what a Neden is? I only found this: İBRAHİM TATLISES - NEDEN (2008) <embed id="VideoPlayback" src="http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docid=8084899235786830412&hl=en&fs=true" style="width:400px;height:326px" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always"...

    Clowns

"Its like the Muslims visiting mecca. Thats what it feels to be here." - Brilliant All the best bits come after the music listing. Just seeing what these guys consider fun. Hay rides? Midway games? Midget wrestling? Pauly Shore? DJ Battles where "they don't really battle." It's so white trash...

    The sacred cows

Liking this thread. How about some hiphop then... Dre Biggie Eric B Clipse MF Doom Krs-One Wiley How about J Dilla? He never got as much cred when he was alive. IMO he isn't worth all the inches.

    The sacred cows

Not much ribbing of Reggae, Dub, Soul, Blues, Jazz on this thread. Reggae Marley - Somebody must have said that by now...maybe I missed it Lee Perry Soul/Funk James Brown - should have stopped ages ago Al Green - first couple albums great, but dude fell off George Clinton Stevie Wonder...

the (digital) hardcore continuum - no, seriously

I remember enjoying this record to no end when I was 16. Such brilliant aggression. That and Shizuo Vs. Shizor were the best off the label. I also liked Empire's Elvis stuff although it doesn't stand up well as his lps around the time. Bomb20 released a follow up a couple years ago which was...

    Ramadanman / Pearson Sound

I have not. Will search it out. Anything I should search out for then that is recent? I guess my opinion matches Ory's: I see a lot of love/hype being thrown his way and I've been wanting to give him a second chance. Just nothing as stood up. 100% right :D
