    Dinner of the Day.

Regarding mushrooms - actually, most of them are edible, it's just not a lot are really delicious. It's probably a normal distribution thing, there are a couple really dangerous ones, deadly ones and there are only a handful of really excellent tasting ones.

    Dissensus Folk Memory

I remember from other Forums I used to be a member of the odd forum-custom "farewell thread" when a member fucked off (or wanted to) and announced his (her) departure from said forum? Did this ever happen here also?

Aren't people getting a bit bored by him by now? (I most certainly am)

    Joker (2019)

That's correct. Even the Ledger-Joker, the most psychotic one so far, had this evil-flamboyance. While the Phoenix-Joker is an utterly dismal and miserable figure.

There's not been a Thing for a while

Boilerroom - as artificial as it is - at least gives fans from all around the globe the chance to see their fav DJs in action. Can't see anything bad with it. You could argue that RA is crap, but that it always was, currently is and always will be.

    Joker (2019)

I watched it today and was well entertained. Very gloomy and dark, very late 2010s. The clown-rioting was a bit ridiculous though. Nobody goes rioting wearing clown-masks. However, I find it a bit troubling that such a gloomy and violent movie draws those high numbers of viewers. It's no "Taxi...

There's not been a Thing for a while

That's of course only one - the Spenglerian - way of looking at things. There's another - eschatological - look at the "end of History" - as promoted by the "woke" liberals/Leftists. They apparently think, if only the whole world goes woke, the globe will be a woke paradise. all of a sudden...

There's not been a Thing for a while

It was by no means Trump that proved Fukuyama wrong, it was the Chinese (and several other mostly Asian states) who didn't follow Fukuyama's idea that economically sucessful states/societies per se had to be liberal parlamentary democracies.

There's not been a Thing for a while

I am definitely out of the loop with what's "hip" and stuff. Having Job + family of my own ain't helping there. Only field I still avidly follow is Jungle/DnB (yes, really) and actually, lot's of enjoyable music coming from that camp for years now. However it's so beyond "hip" that it won't...

    Syria

And first reports coming in that IS-captives fled, are regrouping and taking bloody revenge on the Kurds. The very same IS-folks Erdogan's family (his son IIRC) had dealings with regarding oil smuggeling. So much Winning!!!

    Trump

Yes, but as a die hard x-files fan I have to say the X-Files were very Alex Jones-ish in that regard. As the show went on, they just added serveral layers of conspiracies. U had a whole hierarchy of conspiracies, also very intertwined

The 2010s were - of course - the decade of the hipster. See the threads on this very forum.
