Always hated Dj Shadow. There's a smugness about his music that just winds me up. No passion. And a host of celebrity mates won't make it any better.

Minidisc is pretty good - still use it in the car, but I prefer MP3 now. What I really, really don't get though is people still using CD walkmans ... it's too big for a pocket so they have to hold it in their hands, it jogs easily and the CDs are relatively bulky to carry around. Just totally...

Spot on! I just got this album too. Fantastic. The funny thing about it is what it does to whatever you might listen to after it ... hard to explain but it kind of alters your perception slightly by bringing you into its world. A sign of quality.

Sakamoto at his best is genius stuff. But he is capable of dross. Saw him at RFH in London a few years ago with violin and viola players ... him on piano ... boring as fuck. But Forbidden Colours is awesome.

Peter Perrett ... where is he now? I used to love the Only Ones, but he seemed a seriously fucked up guy. Hope he's got himself a bit sorted out.
