I remember the story that Smokebelch was an LTJ Bukem track too. I think it was in Muzik magazine or something? But I’ve never been able to find it again so assumed I’d misremembered. So this is great to see. It’s actually LB Bad’s New Age of Faith as I’m sure everyone knows now but in the mid...

UK Techno "Lightning Swords of Death" 1989-1995

Love this to bits. Had one of my best ever clubbing experiences at Slam at the Arches. Lost my gf of the time for about half an hour as she was just making friends with loads of spangled weegie women in the Ladies.

    Roiling football blather

I assumed these brain geniuses would have war gamed it a little, identified what the problems might be and planned responses. It was obvious that at least some fans, players and managers would be unhappy so they'd need to come up with something in response and they just... didn't? It's inept...

Yeah the story was that it happened on the dance floor at Speed. Was about royalties for Pulp Fiction I think. The album did come out and the reason it flopped was cos it was shit. Really fucking weak, and I like Alex Reece a lot. Some of the tracks were played by Grooverider and Fabio so it...

I like Alex Reece’s own rmx of Basic Principles. It’s quite unique, sort of sui generis in a way. Same with Repertoire by J Majik. Was also a big fan of Optical’s Shape the Future rmx on the metal box compilation. That’s more or less when I stopped listening to drum n bass tho.

    floating points must be euthanised

I know you weren’t asking me but I love that album. I don’t know where the line gets drawn on Etsy fuzzy felt year 9 music but this is the right side of it imo. There’s enough crunch. Don’t much care for Floating Points for all the reasons above. There’s another one, Dorian Concept, who’s the same.

    Eduard Limonov

I was a student in Russia when Generation P came out and read a few Pelevin books. Was wondering what happened to him. My Russian was never that great so I read Gen P with a dictionary in the other hand and really felt like I wasn't understanding it but I feel like that about books in English...

    Unfortunate names

I've idly googled a couple of names and they are low rent crims who turn up on the regional news. Altho it turns out Vimps Fountain is actually called Vamps Fountain. https://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/suffolk-constabulary-charge-vamps-fountain-on-suspicion-of-carrying-a-2829740 Here is...
