    favourite headline ever

The Irish papers have been following this case with great interest. Unfortunately the actual print edition had a much, much, much longer headline compared to the highly truncated online version... Woman in sumo wrestler suit assaulted her ex-girlfriend in gay pub I just want to move on, says...

admitting you were wrong: music you used to like and now hate

I went to see Shed Seven a few years after they were pretty much past it, lovely chaps. Invited a few of us backstage after and ended up wrapping up all the food that had been laid on for them in paper towels and plastic bags for us to take home. Fed me for a week that did. :D

US General blames Gays in the Military for Srebrenica massacre

Oh boy, where to even BEGIN  One thing that always appalled me was the fate of the homosexual prisoners after the war and how they were made to serve out their full sentences by the allied liberators.

US General blames Gays in the Military for Srebrenica massacre

Oh and laugh at it I did, especially given how spectacularly ill-timed it was given that the Dutch government has just collapsed over the fallout of their involvement with the Afghan adventure and their political support of the Iraq invasion - not to mention the fact that the Srebrenica enquiry...

    90's 'dance'

The Cranberries - "Zombie" (Techno Remix) used to get a similar reaction whenever it was played in the fenian dives of my rural Irish youth. Still - in terms of utterly comical misappropriation of pop music for political purposes it's no worse than Johnny "Mad Dog" Adair's UFF / UDA brigade...

Anthony "Shake" Shakir - "All we did was put a black face on it"

That's actually fascinating, have you got a link for that? It certainly gels with my armchair theorising about the popularity of the off-beat bassline in Trance being a by-product of European folk music and specifically marching bands in the Western European coal belt...
