This book came out recently. I plan on buying it; the perspective is rather interesting.

Pinkman and its subsidiary Charlois are releasing nice stuff. Ranging between EBM and electro mainly, but also including some fringe house and absurd oompah-disco. Not the most representative track, but one that I had on repeat for a day or so.

I like the RSE-stuff he puts out. I never cared too much about what you call the exoticist undertones. But I always imagined it to be more of post-colonial critique/irony, rather than an earnest belief in tribal magic. A bit like his military-toned titles are not a simple exaltation of all...

How much music do you listen to as if it were just noise waves? This whole music-thing works because generally one assumes the sonics to mean something -- and sometimes precisely this improbable idea becomes its (only) meaning (Xenakis etc).

Not to confuse mulitple threads, but the Caretaker's point on memory (loss) and melancholia, for example, could never been made in a single. It needs an album to tell the whole thing in an observable way. Albums are only useless if they do not serve their point.

The whole thing is on sale on Bandcamp for next to nothing, almost a steal. Have been reading up K-Punk with it on the background -quite an experience. There should be more theory with well-precise music to inspire and go along with it.

Really enjoyed that Secret Earth album, quite suprisingly. The new Chris Otchy on C.Tatsu is great as well.

Unfortunately, I found most of the other tracks on the recent reissue not all that convincing. But this one is just fantastic.

I only knew the dubious number one (and the admittedly fantastic Brouk). Can I ask which ones you rate most? I am not convinced I want to dive in the whole (dubious) genre, but some guided tippy-toeing could be worth it.
