This is that tune that if you don't have the 'right' tune to mix out of it will hurt you in the mix! SA House; DJ Mbuso, Andy X, DJ Mobi, DJ Sdunkero, Steavy Boy, Mzekezeke ... all make cracking tracks around 120-125bpm that vibe w/ UK sounds.

I said it was idm-ish, not idm mkII. You are correct, the formal musical elements that make up downtempo wonk & idm are different, the audience however... As a whole the downtempo wonky stuff comes off idm-ish to me, its 'head' music, stiff (not so much in a quantization way) & edity, colourful...

Hardcore is an adjective as well... The thing is these are words that are actually in use, by "kids" even. Certain forums are full of referances to 'funky' & 'wonky' house, both positive & negative. I'm sure alotta people thought calling music Jungle was daft as well... & Drum & Bass or Breaks...
