yea you are right there are definitely more than just broad similarities. particularly the idea of
*solaris spoilers / event horizon spoilers*
a sentient *thing* (planet/spaceship) manipulating people with the intention of trapping them on/within.
i'm sure this scenario...
Yeah I guess Solaris or 2001 are the main reference points for the 'trapped in space' horror scenario. Alien, Event Horizon - Sunshine is another one. And Pandorum but I haven't seen that. I dunno what the one under the sea you mentioned is though....
edit - videodrome is still really, really...
i dont think 'remembering things' and nostalgia are the same thing. nostalgia is more about a yearning, a desire to revisit and relive the past, so i guess in that way it's as much an attitude towards the present as it is the past.
but to address your point: is nostalgia for 'playing footy with...

I think it's probably quite difficult to write a 1 star review in <200 words so I think he should be cut some slack. However not really sure what this is about:
Starts off criticising his ability and ends up making a pretty questionable judgement about content - 'first-world problems'? Is this...
what a horrible shit. he's got the potential to become the premiership's next ridiculous pantomime villain since ronaldo left. just wish gus would stop supporting him though, really isn't doing himself or the seagulls any favours, fellow countrymen or not.
edit- just watched the sunderland man...
i reckon you should definitely get to london, it's simultaneously the best and the worst place to be if you don't quite know where you're going - lots of opportunities, inspiration etc. but also easy to lose a grip on things and end up 'going under', especially in the current climate i expect...
