    Black Metal

Do you have their acoustic album? I've heard good things about that one but never heard it.. and one they recorded in the forest or something.

    Black Metal

Ulver have printed things like "we are not metal anymore" in liner notes though, so the accusations of them selling out isn't just because they are going more electronic. It's gone beyond "more electronic" too though hasn't it. I mean they've stopped playing guitars or singing on the records...

    Black Metal

Yes! Transilvanian Hunger! COLD... COLD.... You ever hear Isengard? Vinterskugge is the anthem to end all. Transilvanian might still edge it out for me, but it'd be a hard choice. That's a good list but I'm a sucker for synths and the more commercial end of it so I'd probably take later...

    Rock!

I've got a record by Kingdom Come called 'Journey' that manages a decent halfway point. There's no drummer, instead there's this old drum machine firing away which gives all the songs a weird feel that's out pf place with other old rock records. One too by Paris called 'Big Town 2061' that...

    Rock!

Oh yeah, Free! Missed James Gang + The Faces too. Fleetwood Mac. Rory Gallagher + Sweet, Blue Cheer, Procol Harum, 10cc, ELO + The Allman Bros.

    Rock!

You can't allow metal into the definition of rock, it's not fair to all the dinosaurs. It'd be pretty wicked to boot the Who and add Sepultura though.

    Rock!

Yeah, ZZ Top was the big omission I think, they should be number 1 for Tres Hombres alone. Deep Purple, Sabbath, Queen, Zeppelin, and CCR too. Heart, Guess Who, Motorhead like Luka mentioned, just tons of good bands, I really like T2 and Wishbone Ash too although sticking with the classics...

    entrances to hell

I needed to read this comment: "Slartisfgh has a heavy aroma of crude oil and was built to provide a fast way out of Brighton. There are several miles of beech panelling in the tunnels which can be made invisible. Slartisfgh is never mentioned in The Bible, but it is here, during one of the...

    things you have noticed.

Sometime last week I watched four strangers cross a busy street together. They moved close together and in unison like a flock of birds until they were safe when they instantly broke apart without acknowledging each other and went their seperate ways.

    Sharks!!!!

I found a severed shark's head washed up on a beach when I was a kid. Spent forever trying to dig some of it's teeth out with a spoon but I didn't get anywhere and eventually noticed the circling cobos so I abandoned it to them. I was always into the hammer heads because their name is great...

    wonderful graffiti

Somebody in Toronto's been tagging "Val Kilmer" and pasting up his head shots in alleys. I don't know what it's about but they're funny to see around the place.

What's the best music from Japan you've heard in the past six months?

I really like the new Ex-girl cd. They're doing some weird opera sounding vocals which in combination with the guitars and stuff sounds like the Boredoms from back when Godmama was in the band. Or Tragic Mullato.

    Philip K Dick suggestions

I second "Confessions Of A Crap Artist". That was the first one of his I ever read and it's awesome. Still probably my favorite. The girl in it's brutal, I don't think she's named Pris, but she's definitely from the same harsh mold. Is "Now Wait For Next Year" the one where a guy tries to...

    Hot RnB

Ciara's 'Hotline' + 'Oh' are my favorites on her cd (besides 'Goodies') and there's lots of good stuff on the Christina Milian outside of her single (try 'L.O.V.E', 'Highway' and 'Peanut Butter + Jelly' although there's still more on it I really like). 'What Can I Do' by Shawna's good (mostly...
