Hall of Shame - pitiful events of immense embarrassment which you will never forget

I do this fairly often, now I am able to just stand there and stare down the crowd as if I did it on purpose to hype them up. Often I'll then just leave a gap while I slowly find the next record in a rather arrogant way. Worst gigs for me have always been getting boked by the wrong promoter for...

    i can hear it too

I can hear it and I have been DJing most weekends for 13 years. I call bullshit on this website and think Massrock is correct.

    school me on deep house

Cor yeah that Arnold Jarvis tune is wicked. Is the distinction between house and garage of that era simply that house is from Chicago and Garage is from New York?

    school me on deep house

"Deep House" is one of those things like "electro" or "garage" that means completely different things depending on the age of the person you are asking. Personally I would say you need Joe Smooth "Promised Land", Ten City "That's The Way Love Is", Sterling Void "It's Alright", Blaze "Can't Win...

the most youve paid for a gig?

£50 for Return To Forever last year, worth it I reckon, they were excellent.

how much MONEY do you make?

I play music for a living. I earn about £10000 most years, once or twice I earned £20000 because of having a lucky break like licensing a song to TV or something. I live in London. I don't need anything apart from food and heating and I don't understand what people with a lot of money do with...

    Clothes

I can't imagine buying clothes from the internet. As I said initially, it's very rare for anything to be the right shape for me. I would end up with a load of trousers that don't reach my ankles and short wide shirts with sleeves halfway up my forearms.

    Clothes

Maybe if you are up for spending £450 on a sweater etc. I just can't see that much value in clothing. I just want to feel like I don't look bad, that would be enough. How did you know I live in London?

    Clothes

was that for me? i don't see a v neck anywhere but there are 2 problems with this for me: 1. he charges £500 for a pair of trousers. 2. the clothes look silly thanks though, sincerely, for replying. I am an old fart who wants to look normal and while I don't expect to get something nice from...

    Clothes

rant Can anyone tell me where I can get a wool V-neck sweater that would fit someone who is 6'3" and not fat? You know, so the sleeves end somewhere near my wrists and the waist reaches down to my waist, without 8 inches of extra flapping width each side of my torso. I am tall and thin but not...

    wave editing for mac

Why not edit in Ableton? Peak is quite good though but overpriced. If you can get hold of old versions and have an OS9 Mac, they are much more stable and better IMO.

    akai mpc repairs

I got some broken buttons replaced on mine at Synth Service Centre in Acton, but I wouldn't recommend them, they had the thing for months and I've had previous cock ups from them. The problem is that it's very hard to get spares in the UK. If you know what's wrong with it, I would recommend...

    Bill 696

I wrote to my GLA member about this and just received this reply: Dear ..... Just a quick update. Our question has been passed from deputy Commissioner Tim Godwin to Commander Bob Broadhurst for response. We expect a response from this office within the next 10 days. Apologies for the length...

Met racism shocker! Who'da thought it? Seriously, how many millions signed anti-Iraq-war petitions? The govt. don't pay any attention whatsoever to petitions. Write to your MP or GLA representative. It's easy, go here: http://www.writetothem.com/ You could also ask your MP why the govt. is...

Pointless But It Does My Head In

You can remove chewing gum using peanut butter believe it or not. Probably just peanut oil would do the trick. To get the oil out of your hair, apply shampoo without water first, then rinse. Why do I know this stuff?

    Crap Towns

I grew up in Bedford. Mostly it is charity shops and pubs and boarded up shops. I visit my mum there most weeks and am always asked several times for money by alcoholics and heroin users on the 5 minute walk from the station to her house. When I last lived there in the early 90s, height of the...

    giggs

Sounds just like Pound Sterling and Bones, also from Lewisham. Is it the same crew of people? Their Beat Robbery CDs about 4 or 5 years ago were pretty good UK gangsta.

The LA's the most seminal band of the 00s?

That bloke on the right once came into a guitar shop where i worked in the 90s and asked to see a really cheap guitar. The he told me he was from the Las and started playing and singing a song. It was really embarrassing and desperate and weird. Attention seeking is bad enough but trying to get...
