GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Fumin - what's that riddim? On Lord Of The Mic 1, fumin does a freestyle (track 15) over a very funky synth bass track. What is it? And is there an instrumental version? "I'm so hungry, I'm so hungry, I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse..."

    eurocrunk and grime video

Is that a HUGE tune or a freakin annoying one? I'm leaning towards HUGE at this point.

I believe it's 1am-2.30am. Look for the guy with the long blonde hair and eagle shirt! Should be a good night.

    Grime in Australia

    1. Hi, yes, I'm in Melbourne. Love grime, 2step, dnb etc. 2. DJ named Cammo/Kammo from Melbourne has been playing a few sets recently. Lady Erica plays a little bit on her radio show on RRR sat nights. Haven't seen her DJ in a while, but I heard she might be doing a grime set fri night? Anyway...

    I hate Sigur Ros!

That's a ridiculous statement on so many levels. Why go see a sporting event? Why go see a symphony? Why go see live theatre? It's a unique experience. I'm not even going near your suicide bomb suggestion.

    I hate Sigur Ros!

It really irks me when people try to use "it's been done before" as a valid criticism of the music at hand. I like the sounds they make, hence I like the band. And hey, I like Can and Neu and Cage and Debussy etc etc etc as much as the next person. There's nothing wrong with liking new music as...

    I hate Sigur Ros!

I'd rather there were more Sigur Ros's in the world than Coldplays, Radioheads and Slowdives!! I thought the show last night was great. I loved the fact that they didn't say anything. It's all about the music maaaan - that pretty much sums up their whole attitude. Nice down to earth guys too.

    Grime in a pincer movement.

Are there any grime artists out there pushing a more dance-able take on the music? The best moments for me are always those when the mc is blazing away and the beat makes me want to move. This seems to be happening less often these days.

    Poor State of Grime

Shadetek's doing stuff for Jammer now aren't they?

    Poor State of Grime

Lady Sov will probably be the next grime artist to make it big. She's getting airplay down here in Australia on major radio stations. If you think Lady Sov isn't grime, then maybe you're too close to the scene?

    Vex'd - Degenerate

I've been looking forward to this for a while. Every release of theirs has been heavy as hell. Anybody got the album? Impressions? (I'm yet to find a copy)

WOEBOT and Heronbone at Rinse FM.

Brilliant piece yeah. I often get the feeling that this period is gonna make one hell of a book one day... :)

The Kano LP -vs- The Roll Deep LP

Grime albums can work. Is Boy In Da Corner a bad album? Perhaps people are expecting everyone to be extremely talented and able to deliver a good album's worth of material straight off the bat? Expecting that of an entire genre (new or otherwise) is not really fair. I'm looking forward to...

top piece from Blackdown on Pitchfork

Some examples off the top of my head: Wu Tang Clan Roni Size The Clash Run DMC M.I.A Anyway... Emerging genres are defined by their audience. If I play the Roll Deep album to someone, tell them "This is grime, you know, like Dizzee Rascal; there's this whole scene... etc" and they don't like...

top piece from Blackdown on Pitchfork

As gumdrops mentioned earlier, the UK artists just need to have more faith in themselves. It's that simple. I've heard tracks that have only been released on dubplates or half-assed mixtapes; tracks that would wreck dancefloors WORDLWIDE. Maybe it's difficult to get perspective when you're so...
