    Good broken beat stuff

here's some bangers, I don't tend to piss around with the broken nowadays unless it's nice n heavy, otherwise I find it gets a bit too floaty or cod-jazz/soul for my liking...that said I haven't bought much but dubstep or cut dubplates for quite a while so I'm a little out of touch, although...

    Good broken beat stuff

haven't got time now, but I'll whack up a fat list here shortly of some of the best bruk bits from the last few years. Haven't been following it for a while, not sure what's been coming out in the last 12-18 months, but I'm into the really heavy wonky stuff and it seems to be getting much...

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

don't forget Mala does rep more Loefah/Coki beats when he's playing on his own, and pretty much all their stuff is halfstep nowadays...

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

what? how is that snooty? He's simply stating a fact. Sound quality and positive vibes are of the utmost importance in dubstep dances, and far less so in the grime scene. oh and hi, ain't posted on here in aaaaaaaaages.

Jump Up, Neurofunk, Techstep, Cashing in/out

Mate, unless you have a really good reason, don't sell your records. I say this even though I'd prob be interested in a lot of what you've got. I sold off a fair view vintage DnB records in the last few years, for space and also for money when I was in a tight spot. I regret selling any of...

    Jump-up anyone?

Nah, I was gonna check that name too, some wicked stuff on Kickin Underground Sound. @ Pearsall, that's a wicked mix right there, some of my all time favourites in there, even if it ain't all strictyly jump-up.

    Jump-up anyone?

Joker are def now seen as a bit of a pisstake, but they did put out some decent tunes in with all the crap. Don't forget labels like Back 2 Basics & 2nd Movement (decent stuff by Ascend, Ultravibe & JB). TOV put out some quality jump-up around 96/97, as someone mentioned further up ^^. Special...

    headphones

They've fixed the problem with the Sony's now - the new version shouldn't crack. The Senn HD25 is pretty much the industry standard, and they do sound good, but I've owned & trashed 2 pairs so I think they're a little flismy - they weren't designed with DJing in mind. Also, the cups don't...

john tejada- the people need a primer!

Think someone mentioned the EP on Frenetik - it's absolutely top notch, deep broken garage. Some fantastic DnB collabs too - Air Raid on a Commercial Suicide EP and he did an amazing track with Polar on Metaformal, and heavy broken stuff with Volcov is decent too. Man has skills.

    bassline records - rare grooves

Raiden has been doing some bootlegs/remixes of classic techno tunes. Dunno much about techno, but I heard his rub of The Bells by Jeff Mills which was absolutely outstanding.

    bassline records - rare grooves

The whole choppage/edits thing seems to have a pretty strong following, lots of committed fans on DOA, and the Technicality all-nighters have been consistently rammed. I've always liked a bit of the edit-y stuff, it's always been there on labels like Reinforced, Paradox's labels etc. At the...

    breaks

This is definitely happening to some extent. The 'bassline breaks' scene has grown a lot in the last couple of years - harder, more DnB styled stuff by peeps like Quest, Baobinga, Aquasky, Distortionz etc, although I don't see much crossover to the DnB scene itself - NuSkool Breaks doesn't get...
