    Name that Grime Tune!

i've got the straight remix with shizzle fresh and napper on it but they only say their names once (quietly) in the intro. the "shizzle! fresh! napper!" one is definately the cha vocal (as of yet unreleased).

    Wiley's eski-œuvre

WK 023 Wiley "Ground Force" (Wiley Kat) This is still for sale on Juno, probably because it was mislabled. Can anyone ID the B Side? http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/134773-01.htm

Surprisingly few ganja tunes in grime?

Wait, I thought that bar was a reference to money! Not that I remember the colour English money anymore.

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

There was one track on a 12" that had "Muppets" written on it that I loved. It was just a couple of sparse 8 bar beats and an orchestra hit with this enormous distorted bass sound that ran through pretty much the entire track. I'd love a track ID if anyone knows it, it must have been from...

Online (grime, dubstep) shops for a US citizen

Yeah, big up the exchange rate right now. :) My most recent rhythm Division order was 4 records for $73 CAN, and that's on the high end of usual because the records were all more expensive promos. I actually made 7 orders last week (!) and racked up the old Visa. :o I can safely say that...

Online (grime, dubstep) shops for a US citizen

None that I know of but I'd recommend doing the math for importing from the UK. I live in Canada and when I order from Rhythm Division, Juno, Independance, Base, or Dubplate, the prices are almost exactly the same as what I would pay in a shop here. That's including shipping and everything. I...

We've never had it so good....

I'd take a dusty vinyl shop over a searchable database any day of the week. I love the scum (is it dust & sweat?) that is left on my fingers after a thorough perusal of the racks. BUT, there's just nothing in the shops over here most of the time, especially if you're buying Grime outside of...

    Essentials "State UR Name"

I'm totally on side with this. I was soo happy to see it released but this version is boring! They don't even drop out the beats during the chorus so you get the full drill sergeant speech. Plus, is it just me or do the verses sound less interesting as well? It's not like I was expecting...

Were these Grime tracks ever released?

Fantastic! I just PM'd you, but I'm not sure if it went through. Drop me an email at jproudfoot@gmail.com if it didn't go through.

Were these Grime tracks ever released?

You have the Ice Rink Vocal EP 1? Tell me something; that's the one with the Tinchy vocal right? Is that the same one that begins with "big up the roll deep entourage, I'm tinchy stryder on a regular" lyric? Of all the Ice Rink mp3s I have, I've never seen the Tinchy one separate. I've only...

Were these Grime tracks ever released?

Need some help from the DJs out there: were these tracks ever released on vinyl? Ruff Sqwad "R.U.F.F." X.T.C. "Funktions on da Low" (the VOCAL versions) and while I'm at it, I've been scouring eBay and every website I can find looking for old Grime choons and have come up blank on a few...

the moon is made of cheese

I'm such a geek for Google Maps. I leaf through my old address books looking for names of people I know in far away places and then zoom in on their houses from space using the satellite photo feature. Very voyeuristic, I just wish you could get even closer! Someone did a very cool VR movie...

    Favourite cheesy dance 'choon'-anthem

Absolutely anything by Black Box, though "I don't want anybody else" is probably my favourite. Also: Hithouse "Jack to the sound of the underground" (chooon!) Beatmasters "Burn it up" (Acid mix) Nu Shooz "I can't wait" Reel 2 Real "I like to move it" and more embarrassing because it...

    Poor State of Grime

Picking up on the discussion about how difficult it is for Grime raves to happen; I'm wondering why the scale hasn't shifted to something small enough that it could actually be put on. I mean, FWD>> happens right? From the pictures I've seen, it seems like Plastic People is a pretty small...

    Poor State of Grime

I have to ask about this, because it does mess me up sometimes being white and following this music as closely as I do (to say nothing of being Canadian, older and an academic). With Jungle I felt pretty fine since the racial/ethnic makeup was mixed and the musical influences sounded like they...
