    school me on deep house

yeah, kyle hall is definitely one to watch, really talented lad, omar s did a promo mix for fabric before his cd came out and it was made up almost entirely of unreleased kyle hall tracks, including a lot more downtempo funk stuff, well worth checking...

    Soundhack/ MMM

cool, i'm going to get my deep house vibes in dalston with steffi, qu and scott ferguson at sud on the friday instead i reckon, but would be intrigued to know what the club is like for future reference!

    Soundhack/ MMM

prosumer is wicked, proper party vibes, him with soundstream will be awesome. i'm not too sure about that club though, granted the lineups are excellent but it seems a bit 'superclub' to me, the type of place where there's no beer on draught and a bottle costs a tenner, i may be wrong though...

    creme bunker

Good shout on this! I picked up a Kommando 6 double pack from Other Music when I was in Manhattan about 5 years back and it's class! Proper stripped, proper dark, just how electro should be; an 808, some analog synth squiggles, and some pitched down male vocal mutterings.

Yeah, it's not that I dislike the new stuff particularly, it's just that I love the sparse, dark 808 stuff they were knocking out a few years ago more! Legowelt's one of those guys I just can't get into, don't know why, I appreciate that he's a good producer, and I've seen him live a couple of...

Yeah, that 'Doop' 12" on Syncom Data was quality, especially this track... Shitcluster - Doop 3 Reminds me of the Glass Domain stuff a bit.

    Picking O'er The Bones

He did a set for Allez-Allez's show on Samurai FM a while back, I think you can still stream it, it's slightly more straight forward 'track afer track' but it gives you an idea of what he's like live.

    Picking O'er The Bones

Seen him a few times, June will be the 3rd time we've had him on in Manc. The live set incorporates some of his known stuff as well as going off on tangents, he doesn't move the pace around too much, just locks you in, the overriding factor is insane amounts of bass!

Bunker is a quality label, proper relentless, I didn't like the early acid techno/squat party stuff but once it settled down it had a golden electro period from about '97 up until a few of years ago when I started to lose interest again. A few faves: Unit Moebius / Polygamy Boys - The Sixth...

1/2 of basic channel and sleeparchive at plastic people!

I was pretty gutted I couldn't make this but all reviews I've read make out it was pretty lacklustre, which is a shame as all 3 are great acts/dj's on their day. We had Pete over a couple of weeks ago in Manc and he was ace. I don't think what Mark does with the 7's is/was in anyway intended to...

Moondog - Viking of 6th avenue

My favourite Moondog album bar non. The marimba piece is beautiful, and the portrait on the cover almost looks like a William Blake plate!

    Picking O'er The Bones

It's his own lyrics about the twin towers among other things (a bit of Paradise Lost in there as well): http://blackdownsoundboy.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_blackdownsoundboy_archive.html#116489364808371728 As he also says in that interview (although granted it's a few years old), everything he...

    Picking O'er The Bones

Shackleton is always great, we have him on in Manc on 7th June if anyone is around. Mordant is a great label, I reckon they steal the show on the comp with 'Olde Wobbly'. Brilliant tune. I also really liked that 'Mr Maxted' album they released about a year ago, proper dark ebm-ish stuff.

Moritz Von Oswald looks like Matthew Sweet meets Boyd Rice!

As I said, I have nothing but absolute respect for the man, I've met him when putting Rhythm & Sound on in Manc and the guy's a legend, just merely saying that it's an amusing video, I'm sure he agrees!

Moritz Von Oswald looks like Matthew Sweet meets Boyd Rice!

Yeah, I think he was just a session drummer for them around '84/85, which is interesting, they were a good band as well.

Moritz Von Oswald looks like Matthew Sweet meets Boyd Rice!

No amount of flag twirling would detract from the quality of his work, and anyway, Palais Schaumburg were a decent band!

    ancient methods - berlin

Ah! Yeah he's quality, his album on Raster Noton a couple of years ago was really good, and he did a wicked lo-fi house 12" on Sex Tags a while back as well.
