Are you thinking of Bad Sector perhaps Zhao?

    Early digi reggae

I love those mixes, they've both been on my mp3 player for years now. If you go back to the Firehouse site Mastermind 3.0 has recently been posted, haven't had chance to listen yet but I'm sure it will be good!

Moritz Von Oswald looks like Matthew Sweet meets Boyd Rice!

Quality isn't it?! As much as I admire and respect the man, once you've seen that video the aura is somewhat shattered!

That sounds interesting, I can't think of a label that matches your description off the top of my head. Another decent industrial/techno label is Zhark, if you discount some of the bullshit gabba releases, the Kareem stuff is ridiculously heavy, Druids especially.

Nah, like I said, everyone knows it's not Vainio now, it's 2 guys who have previously recorded as Baeks and Trias from Berlin. Proper heavy stuff though, great artwork as well.

    The Prince Thread.

I agree, love that line 'move your big ass round so I can work on that zipper', I reckon his complete overt filthiness is one of the (many) great things about him, the guy doesn't give a fuck, 'Pussy Control' is another song I love for this reason, the line 'Pussy got bank in her pocket, before...

Moritz Von Oswald looks like Matthew Sweet meets Boyd Rice!

Check him in this Palais Schaumburg video from '84: Palais Schaumburg - Easy Go Crazy dance moves from the Basic Channel man.

Quality gear. There were rumours going round that it was Mika Vainio doing these, which has to be a compliment to the 2 guys I guess! The podcast is class, proper dark stuff.

    new Burial 12 with... fourtet?!

I think it sounds quite nice, at least it's a bit different. I thought the 2 tracks previewed on Benji B sounded like more of the same from him, at least on this he's working with a slightly different sound pallette.

    Moritz Von Oswald Trio

Quality assured if Moritz is involved. Glad to see him recovered and back working after last years stroke/heart attack/insert rumoured illness here!

current trends that will age horribly

I always liked 'No Partial': Rhythm & Sound - No partial - PK records - pk 06 - DUB youtube really doesn't do the bass justice though! Getting back to the thread, I'm not sure how many of the seemingly endless current supply of 'disco re-edits' will stand the test of time. Some of them are...

    french house

yeah, it's just tough looped house, bit of a booty element to it as well, good club tools. Can't really fault Daft Punk's first album as well, some killers on there, again though, you just need to get past the scandalous liberties taken with samples! They've even been known to actually buy the...

current trends that will age horribly

Various Artists = Erosion = Dynamo = Resilient = T++. Proper legend, and consistently innovative. The T++ stuff is just incredible, amazing live as well.

    french house

Bangalter did some great stuff, Trax On Da Rocks 1 & 2 were ace, this track especially: Thomas Bangalter - What To Do Most of it is quite shamelessly robbed, but it's good nonetheless!

Fluxion is amazing, the 'Bipolar Defect' double pack is one of my favourite Chain Reaction releases.

Another fave BC moment... Round Four / Paul St. Hilaire - Find A Way (vocal) Timeless.

current trends that will age horribly

I think all the Deepchord stuff is essentially pointless as it has always been such an exact replication of Basic Channel, even to the point of moving from techno through to more traditional reggae structures, and even pinching Tikiman for a few tracks. They're really not much more than a...

current trends that will age horribly

Basic Channel are still producing music (or at least Moritz is), and it is still better than their imitators, as highlighted in this piece of genius: Tony Allen - Ole (A Remix By Moritz von Oswald) and also in his remix of 'Ich Bin Der Regen' by 2raumwohnung, and his 'Recomposed' album with...
