    The Eastenders Thread

yes. i have the exact same problem. my obsession with this has lost all sense of irony now and i no longer have an excuse. its my stupid english flatmate that got me into it. its totally not my fault. (here i go making excuses). someone is probably working on a cure for it somewhere...

M.I.A. what is the big deal?

i am actually fairly serious about this. i would love to see how far the hype machine can actually go. as long as we can agree on a few realistic names and perhaps produce photoshopped images of mixtapes and cdrs. maybe a few random people in poses too, we could have our very own scene...

M.I.A. what is the big deal?

martin, thats amazing. you should start hailing the arrival of TRIPWIRE across the internet see if it actually catches on. i believe at this point if you got it on a few blogs someone would write an article about it somewhere. people are liable to believe anything.

M.I.A. what is the big deal?

something will come along, and very soon i imagine. if grime gets any more popular people will start turning away. its been what 3-4 years now? that is a long time to be so focused on something. as long as i get there before VICE and FADER i don't really care what it is!!!

    Ruff Sqwad

as someone who keeps a rather loose eye on the scene, i have to say (apart from guns and roses 1) their production crushes everyone elses. am looking forward to checking out those (recent) tracks ya'll just mentioned.

    Minimalism in Hip Hop

i recall the thread being about hip hop and not stockhausen and cage.

    Minimalism in Hip Hop

i really think the 'whisper song' has brought minimalism to a new peak. you really cannot get more minimal than whispering for an entire track over the slightest yet most catchy of beats in recent memory.

    Music industry after pre-teens

"'We're targeting sophisticated, pop-hungry pop people,' says Eddie Ruffett of Universal Music." quite possibly the biggest overstatement in the article. at first this worried me but actually i think this is good news. by the time these kids hit their 'rebellious' teen years, they will...

this is really not the best way to justify liking an album.

roll deep - in at the deep end

Is this the album that came out yesterday? it is extremely disappointing that 'commercialising' their sound is the route that was decided for this. it is impossible to justify and worse, it is hardly surprising.

    Esg

i guess they were doing some sort of U.K. tour cause they were in glasgow on sunday as part of the triptych festival that happens annually this time of year. they played at the optimo club night. i think their name is just rather household when it comes to artschool types and dance people...

    Minimalism in Hip Hop

It seems as of late Hip Hop and Rap has decided to take a turn for the minimal. Snoop's 'drop it like its hot' had a very stripped sound to it, and it worked wonderfully. and the Ying Yang Twins 'wait (whisper song)' really takes it to a new level. this song just completely slays me when i...

    the futureheads

i don't rate them. i think one of the reasons people want to like them is cause one of the gang of four guys produced the album or something.
