My favourite Lynch film is probably Lost Highway or Mulholland Drive. Leaning more towards Mulholland Drive. I felt the nu-metal soundtrack in Lost Highway cheapened it slightly. MD felt a bit more finely crafted and like he had a better idea of what it was he was trying to do.

Films you've seen recently and would unreservedly recommend:

I need to give Inland Empire a second viewing. I wasn't particularly impressed with it when I saw it. It definitely has something though. I didn't like that it was shot in digital. Made it feel a bit like some sort of aborted TV show. It felt like sitting in on Laura Dern's nightmare. (This is...

You need at least one brown item of clothing.

Vonnegut is excellent. I've read Cat's Cradle and Mother Night, both of which were top cow.

What do I need to know to be a Proper Grown Up?

You need at least one "friend" you thoroughly dislike, have known for years and still see semi-regularly.

'Dedication' is great. Really enjoyed it. Zomby's best release to date. (Closely followed by Digital Flora / Fauna, Rumours & Revolutions and the Hyperdub double pack) My only quibble with it was that 'Mozaik' was an odd one to finish on. It felt like the album had ended and someone had...

On the whole anonymity/mask wearing thing. What about people with anxiety issues etc? Personally, I'd feel more comfortable playing out if I had a mask on. Although, what with the stigma surrounding it, I'd probably find it became another source of discomfort. More often than not, it does...

I just disliked him because at one time or another I've agreed with what he's saying / done similar things.

    what are you reading now?

Notes from the Underground Enjoying it. The narrator is an absolute prat though. (I suppose that's partly the point. Utterly loathsome individual.) I can empathize but he's almost like a more eloquent Alan Partridge.
